Song of the day: Ariel – "We Are Indelible"

July 14, 2009

Here’s Ariel with “We Are Indelible” (1975):

Ariel was essentially singer/guitarist/songwriter Mike Rudd (New Zealand-born but thoroughly Australian) and bassist Bill Putt, and the pair have a rather convoluted history*. They’ve had a musical partnership since 1969, and they’re still playing together.

Incidentally, Ariel’s “We Are Indelible” was the second time Mike ‘n’ Bill recorded the song. It was recycled from an earlier (1973) incarnation by the Indelible Murtceps. Here’s the earlier version:

If either of those two versions of “We Are Indelible” don’t float your boat, then here’s a boppier bonus in the form of Ariel’s “Yeah Tonight”:

*1969-1973: Spectrum (also known as Indelible Murtceps)
*1969-1973: Indelible Murtceps (also known as Spectrum)
*1973-1977: Ariel
