Musical coincidences # 382

April 4, 2013

The Bynars, an American band I’ve mentioned before on this blog, has released a new song entitled “All I Wanna Do Is Have Some Fun Tonight”. It’s a dance-y ind of thing that goes nearly 12 minutes. Yes, 12. (Confession time: I didn’t listen to all 12 minutes of it.)

As I was listening to the song – and being bombarded by the sound (it’s very loud) – I noticed something familiar at 1:03. I noticed this:

The Bynars – “All I Wanna Do Is Have Some Fun Tonight (2013) (excerpt)

Which reminded me of this:

Sheryl Crow – “All I Wanna Do (1994) (excerpt)

Song of the day: The Bynars – "Haunted House"

October 19, 2011

Serial pests gentle reminderers The Bynars sent me yet another a friendly email letting me know about their latest song. As you probably guessed by the graphic above, and the time of year it is for people in the land of Americans, the song is Halloween-themed. It’s also free:

I’m glad The Bynars let me know about their Halloween-themed ditty, because it reminded me of another haunted house song:

Owsley – “Zavelow House” (1999)

Song of the day: The Bynars – "Every Little Thing You Love"

September 19, 2011

I received an email from American band The Bynars promoting their latest song. I dare say a whole lot of other people received the same email, ‘cos it’s one of those “Hi everybody, here’s our latest song” emails that bands like to send out to people.

Nevertheless, I was glad to get that email because it reminded me of The Bynars (Hi, Bynars!) and their debut album, conveniently titled The Bynars, which is full of songs I like and have mentioned before.

The email said that the song is being made available at Bandcamp on 19 September. Where I am – i.e., the Southern Hemisphere – it’s the 19th of September which theoretically means it’s now available, but if you’re reading this up in the northern reaches of this planet we call Earth it may not be the 19th yet, so the song may not be available for you yet. (It wasn’t available for me when I tried the link a moment ago.) Hemispheres are weird.

Ah well. Feel free to try it at Bandcamp:

If this hemispheres thing is messin’ up The Bynars’ quest to have you listen to the song, then you can hear it here. Enjoy!

The Bynars weirdo video

July 18, 2011

Some time ago I played you a song by American band The Bynars. The song was (and still is) “How Does It Feel To Be In Love?“.

Well, I received an email from the band saying that they’ve gone all multimedia with that song by creating an interactive video for it. Here are them details:

The Bynars’ brand new Interactive Music Video for the single “How Does It Feel to Be in Love?” is here!!! We just premiered the video today on our website, and couldn’t be more excited. This is a lot of fun — you can choose between watching 12 different videos, watch 4 at a time, in any combination you’d like. Choose which video you are watching by clicking with your mouse, and rotate the videos by using your mouse’s scroll wheel. It takes a few minutes to load, but it’s worth it. You can play PONG while you wait. Enjoy!

You can fiddle about with the video here: http://thebynars.com/hdif-video.html.

Song of the day: The Bynars – "Can You Hear It?"

June 23, 2011

I’ve already pestered you about The Bynars, a band from the land of Americans, but they’re at it again (making music, that is), so…

Here to pester you one more time is a rather productive band:

By the way, that’s available as a free download. Not only productive but generous, too. My kind of musicians.

Song of the day: The Bynars – "How Does It Feel To Be In Love?"

An extremely helpful chap by the name of Matt (Hi, Matt!) has alerted me to a band I’d never heard of before. (Thanks, Matt!)

Here are a couple of whizzo (translation: I like ’em) songs by American band The Bynars:

I like ’em.

Incidentally, I have a slight suspicion that whoever1 named the band likes Star Trek. According to the world of Star Trek (a world I don’t inhabit), Bynars are a race of aliens2. This is what they look like:

I just thought you’d like to know.
