Here’s the original:
I do like the Internet. I just found out from Twitter that a song by Australian band Deep Sea Arcade has been made available free for download. The good news about this is that the song is not horrible at all (i.e., it’s actually worth downloading).
Here’s Deep Sea Arcade with a mighty decent imitation of dreamy Britpop:
By the way, I found this publicity photo of the band:
I don’t think that does them any favours whatsoever. I guess they were going for an “arty” look, and I’d agree by saying it’s terribly arty. Unfortunately, when I say “terribly” here I don’t mean “very”, I mean terribly.
Some time ago I played you “Lonely In Your Arms“, a song from Australian band Deep Sea Arcade that was released ahead of the band’s forthcoming debut album. Well, the album is no longer forthcoming. The whole thing has been posted on Soundcloud if you’re keen on auditioning the little beastie.
Here’s one of the tracks from Outland that I found instantly appealing:
Now I have another album to buy.
Here’s a new Australian band I saw (and heard) by chance the other day on Australian television music program Rage. It’s wonderfully retro:
I like that. A lot. (Even though the singer sounds disconcertingly like Billy Corgan.)
Here’s another one of their songs:
Yep. Retro Plus.
I’m looking forward to buying their album when it’s released.
