Today’s post is another musician request.
I was asked to pester y’all about a young British fellow by the name of Luke Potter.
The song I was asked to listen was “Breathe In”, one of three tracks produced by American musician Bleu. Those three tracks have rather handily been released as an EP entitled One Day.
This is “Breathe In”. Have a look and a listen, and then I’ll let you know what I thought of it.
When I watched that video and heard the music in it, my impression was that I’d just been exposed to a one-man Jonas Brothers.
If you enjoyed “Breathe In”, then you’ll be pleased to know the EP is available as a free download.
Here are the EP’s other two tracks:
Overall, I thought the songs were pleasant but undistinguished.
However, I think Luke has himself a huge advantage in the music industry in that he ticks a lot of 21st century popular culture boxes:
- Young? Check.
- Sensitive? Check.
- Personable? Check.
- Not ugly? Check. (As far as I can tell.)
- Can sing? Check.
- Familiar chord progressions? Check.
- Highly polished production? Check.
- Sounds like Jonas Brothers? Check.
- Looks like Jonas Brothers? Check.
- Luke Skywalker in the name? Check.
- Harry Potter in the name? Check.
I’d say if Luke can get himself on television so that millions of teenage girls can see and hear him, he’ll have a bright future.
