I was humming a song to myself when it decided to become something else.
It became this:
Ringo Starr – “You’re Sixteen“ (1973)
And I’m glad it did.
Here’s the original version:
Johnny Burnette – “You’re Sixteen“ (1960)

Today’s coincidence has a nice Lennon/McCartney connection.
Here’s a bit of the Paul-penned / Ringo-recorded “Six O’Clock”:
Ringo Starr – “Six O’Clock“ (1973) (extended version) (excerpt)
And from a year later:
John Lennon – “#9 Dream“ (1974) (excerpt)
I like how both songs were recorded only a year apart. It just adds to the Lennon/McCarney-ness.

John Lennon – “#9 Dream“ (1974)

Today’s coincidence is small, but I noticed it, and I have a blog, so…
Here’s a bit of one of Fountains Of Wayne’s new songs from their forthcoming* album, Sky Full Of Holes:
Fountains Of Wayne – Richie & Ruben” (2011) (excerpt)
That reminds me of:
Ringo Starr – “Photograph“ (1973) (excerpt)
Here are the full versions:
Fountains Of Wayne – Richie & Ruben” (2011)
Ringo Starr – “Photograph“ (1973)
(*If you don’t count Out Of State Plates, their 2005 compilation of B-sides, then Sky Full Of Holes will actually be the band’s fifthcoming album.)

Ringo‘s “Photograph” was released on this day in 1973, and that’s all the reason I need to play it:
