The Mad Turks are notable for two things:

1. They used to be called The Mad Turks From Istanbul; and
    
2. Their singer was Charles Jenkins who went on to bigger power-pop things in Australia with Icecream Hands and The Zhivagos, two bands I’ve featured on this ‘ere blog in the past. (Here and here.)
